Window dressing is a type of strategy implemented by mutual fund and other portfolio managers near the end of a year or quarter to improve the appearance of a fund’s performance before making a presentation of it to shareholders. It includes selling the stocks with large losses and buying high-flying stocks. They are then said to be a part of the fund's or portfolio’s holdings.
